5 Winebars in Malta where you'll enjoy an excellent experience.

Fancy yourself a bottle of vintage wine? Pay a visit to these 5 wine bars during your holiday in Malta - we’re sure you’ll love the experience.

1. Cent’Anni - Għargħur

Cent’Anni is situated in the Northern village of Għarghur. This antique wine bar dates back to the 19th century and carries a beautiful history.

While Cent’Anni offers a structured À la carte menu, we recommend you order one of their exquisite platters for that perfect pairing with your choice of wine.

The owner, Rene, is one of Malta's top wine connoisseurs and you should definetely have a chat with him. Let him know what you prefer, and he'll surely come up with a few excellent recommendations from his well-stocked cellar.

2. Trabuxu - Valletta

Trabuxu is a boutique hotel catering for hungry souls. Trabuxu’s cellar dates 400 years and has been serving exquisite beverages for the past 15 years. Enjoy the beautiful bistro as you sip on your aged glass of wine.

Incidentally, if you're wondering what "Trabuxu" means, it's the Maltese word for corkscrew.

In fact, you'll find plenty of vintage corkscrews decorating the interior of this car.

The staff are ever so helpful, and the recent relaunch of the menu with plenty of aged french cheeses will leave your mouth watering.

3. Harbour Club - Valletta

While Harbour Club isn’t a self proclaimed wine bar, we sure think it deserves the label. The scenic restaurant offers a wide selection of wines - all of which you can choose to enjoy in the scenic outdoor terrace or in the restaurant’s own wine cellar.

4. Del Borgo - Birgu

Del Borgo offers a wide selection of foreign and local wines, with Birgu serving as its beautiful backdrop. The restaurant/wine bar offers an interesting menu, placing emphasis on local produce. We’re loving the patriotic element!

5. Brookies - Victoria

Apart from serving a vast variety of wines, Brookies boasts its musical element. Brookies has got to be the wine bar we run to whenever we’re in Gozo because this Victoria based locale is one of a kind!
