1. Snorkel the crystal-clear blue sea

Grab a snorkel, mask and flippers because you’ll be taking advantage of the Maltese seas during your visit! If you’ve got the equipment at hand, this activity is free all-around and can make for a fun day out.

2. Hike around the island

If you’re feeling adventurous, it might be a good idea to hold on to the momentary blitz and take a walk around the island. Malta’s landscape is varied - so whether it’s a rocky terrain you’re looking for or a seaside stroll - we’re sure you’ll achieve your vision.

3. Visit a festa

Malta is host to over 40 village feasts every year. Do you know what that means? That means you’re sure to catch one during your stay in Malta. Grab a drink and enjoy the worldwide renowned local fireworks.

4. Tour an open-air Market

The Maltese love their markets such as the fish sale in Marsaxlokk. If you’re looking to purchase something on the cheap; be it food, clothes or equipment, make sure to head out to one of these markets to assure yourself a steal!

5. Grab some Maltese delicacies

Maltese cuisine is both savouring and economical. The delicious pastizzi can be bought for as little as 25c while a rabbit fiesta can go for as cheap as €15. Grab a taste of a Maltese delicacy and indulge in the food of the locals for a day.

6. Take a ferry ride from Valletta to Sliema

Skip the bus ride and opt for a ferry ride instead if you’re planning to visit Valletta or Sliema. A ticket from the harbour goes from €1.50 for a single journey to €2.80 for a return trip.

7. Visit a museum

Malta is full of history, we’re sure you’ve heard. Immerse yourself in the culture and visit one of Malta’s many museums. Entrances start from €3 and go up to €10. You could probably spend a day visiting museums back to back. Make sure to check out our list of history-packed museums to get a few ideas.

8. Do a watersport

Don’t limit yourself to swimming next time you’re at the beach. Assemble a group of friends and do some watersport. Whether it’s canoeing or kayaking, the fun is assured.

9. Catch a movie

It can get hot in summer and what better place to cool down in than at a movie theatre, under the blazing AC? Movies in Malta are released in English; so fear not, the language barrier won’t be a problem. Tickets go as cheap as €3 for second-runs and €5.50 for new releases.

10. Visit a sister island

Malta’s archipelago hosts 26 islands, of which 3 are major. Board a ferry towards one of Malta’s sister islands, all for under a tenner! A round trip to Comino costs €10 while one for Gozo is €4.65, to be exact.
We’re super excited to carry out all of these activities ourselves, see you around!
